It is a small website of your own that remembers things for you. Talk to it the way you would talk to a person, and it keeps what matters where the people you share it with can find it.
Go to your own address - the one you were sent. It ends in casanize.app. Nobody finds it by accident and nobody outside gets in.
Type your email address and pick a password. This is the one time you choose it. Write it down - there is no reset email yet, so a forgotten password means a phone call.
It asks you to set up your helper: give it a name, pick how you want it to sound, and say in a line what you want help with. The preview changes as you type.
Press Start talking. It greets you by your first name and you are in. Your helper follows you to any device you sign in on.
The "what I want help with" box starts with somebody else's words in it as an example. Type over it - whatever is left in there is what your helper thinks its job is.
Say the thing the way you would say it out loud. It works out what to do with it.
"We should try to play the Carousel Lounge."
"The cabin needs new towels before the 14th."
"What did I say about the deposit?"
The first becomes a venue on your shelf. The second becomes a note with a date. The third is just a question - it answers, and nothing gets filed.
It keeps up with what it has been told, so you are not re-explaining who you are or which cabin you mean every time.
If you keep asking for the same thing, say "save that as a job called show announcement." It writes down how to do it and confirms on screen. After that, "do the show announcement for Friday" is enough. They live under Settings โ What they know how to do.
This is the difference between this and a chat window. A conversation scrolls away; the shelf does not. There is a Shelf button at the top with a count next to it - tap it and everything is there.
You do not file things by hand. You mention them, and the helper files them, then tells you where it put each one: "that is on the shelf under venue."
Every space keeps its own handful of words for the kinds of things it holds. A band's might be:
Between three and seven of them, changed by the owner in Settings โ The shelf's words. Rename one and everything filed under it comes along. You cannot delete a word while things are still filed under it - it says so, and suggests renaming instead.
Whoever put an item there can take it off, and so can the owner. Files attached to it go with it. If two of you add nearly the same thing, both are kept and the helper offers to merge them.
In a shared space, everyone signed in sees every shelf item and every file on it. That is the point of it. Anything that is nobody's business but yours stays in conversation - see what stays private.
Anything on the shelf can carry a date, plus the time in your own words - "doors at 8", "after lunch". The next four dated things sit at the top of the shelf under Coming up, soonest first. Once a date passes, the item greys out and drops to the bottom instead of vanishing.
The helper never guesses a date. Say "the 14th" and it says the day and the year back to you and waits for a yes. A made-up date on a shared shelf is worse than no date.
The evening before anything dated, everyone gets a nudge on their phone - if they turned notifications on.
Worth the two minutes. It then opens like an app, and on an iPhone it is the only way notifications work at all.
Reminders can run late by design: nothing is ticking in the background, so a nudge goes out when somebody next opens the site. Treat it as a helpful poke, not an alarm clock.
There is a mic button by the message box. Tap it, say your piece, and the words land in the box - you still press send. It stops itself when you pause. It uses your phone's own speech engine, so it behaves a little differently phone to phone.
Paperclip, paste, or drag - up to four at a time.
A picture or PDF is read and then let go unless you flip the keep switch on it. A recording or video is always kept. Anything kept hangs on a shelf item, and every shelf item has Add a file for attaching something later. There are no folders - a file lives on the thing it belongs to.
25 MB a file, 500 MB for the whole space; the shelf shows what is used. If an iPhone photo is refused it is in Apple's HEIC format, and the message on screen names the Settings change that fixes it for good.
It writes things and holds onto things. It does not email anybody, text anybody, or post anywhere. Copy what it writes and send it yourself.
When it runs out of room mid-answer it says so - "That is as far as I could get in one go" - rather than trailing off. Ask it to carry on.
It also tells you when it does not know, and when something it was told looks out of date. That is on purpose: a confident wrong answer on a shared shelf costs more than an honest shrug.
If you own the space, Settings โ People is where you add them. You get a link for them to set their password, shown on screen to copy.
And nothing is emailed automatically yet, so text it to them straight away. If it goes stale, make another one.
Only the owner can make somebody an admin. An admin cannot promote themselves or anyone else, and nobody can take the owner's seat.
A short list of facts the whole space holds - who is in it, the hometown, the rider, the booking rules, the standing instructions. Everyone's helper knows them, so nobody explains the basics twice. Owner and admins keep it current; members read it.
Not the owner, not an admin, nobody. There is no screen anywhere that shows it.
Your space is also walled off from every other Casanize space. Nothing crosses.
